Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)
The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) provides a service to help sort out any problems or questions that you may have about any aspect of the services or treatment provided at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals.
Both Barnet and Chase Farm have dedicated PALS staff who can be contacted by patients, their relatives, friends or carers by phone or email. People can also book appointments to see members of the PALS team in person.
What can PALS do for you?
PALS work with hospital staff and other organisations to resolve problems, collecting information as they go to help improve services for the future. Examples of what PALS can do include helping solve problems with appointment dates and times or arranging for you to meet with staff to discuss your queries and concerns.
PALS can also explain and help you through the process of how to complain to the Trust.
How does PALS help make sure the same mistakes don't happen again?
The PALS team keeps a record of all the contacts received from patients, relatives and carers.
This information is reviewed regularly and discussed with the relevant staff to ensure that improvements are made.
What are PALS aims?
- To assist patients, their families, friends or carers with concerns or questions about our services.
- To work with staff to resolve issues effectively.
- To provide information about other services that can support health needs.
- To record and pass on comments and suggestions to improve our health service.
