Waiting at the clinic

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your appointment. Patients are seen in order of appointment time rather than in order of arrival to the clinic. It is difficult to know in advance how long each patient will spend with the doctor. Should delays occur due to unforeseen circumstances, we will do all we can to keep you informed.

Patients in the waiting room may be waiting to see different doctors, so other patients may arrive after you but see their doctor before you see yours.

Your appointment

Each clinic has its own routine and a team of medical, nursing, therapy and clerical staff. If you have any queries or need advice regarding your treatment, the clinical staff, including specially trained nurses, will be happy to advise you.

Every patient is under the care of a Consultant but you may be seen by another doctor in the team, who will discuss your medical condition and treatment with you.

The Trust helps to train doctors, nurses and other health care professionals. You may be asked if you mind having a student present during your appointment. If you do not want students present at your appointment please tell the nurse. Your care will not be affected in any way.

Refreshments

Each of our hospitals provide facilities for patients and visitors for food and refreshments at either restaurants, tea bars or shops.

Smoke free environment

The Trust operates a no smoking policy in and around all buildings and grounds.

Mobile phones

Please observe signs relating to mobile phone use.
