Filming

We welcome requests for filming at our Trust and will do our best to accommodate. Please find below a brief overview of the procedure and protocol for filming undertaken at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust.

  • Patient confidentiality is of utmost importance and written consent to filming must be always be obtained
  • Filming must not interfere with the provision of patient services or effective running of the Trust
  • Patient and staff safety is paramount at all times
  • The privacy of patients must be respected and their dignity preserved

Procedure

Before filming
All filming requests must go through the Trust's Communications Team. Details of request including dates, specifications and duration must be sent by email to bcfcommunications@nhs.net.

Once terms of filming are agreed they are only negotiable if sufficient notice is provided.

While filming
The filming crew must be accompanied by a member of Trust staff at all times. Rigorous infection control procedures must be respected at all times. No patients or staff are to be filmed without obtaining proper consent.

Charges
There is a schedule of charges for filming, which is available on request. Fees are charged to cover administration and staff costs. Additional costs may be charged if specific equipment is required or supervison is needed out-of-hours.

Fees for not-for-profit organisations are negotiable and may be offered at a discounted rate.

Parking
Larger vehicles can be accommodated if sufficient notice is given. Smaller vehicles are able to use the public pay and display car parks within both hospital grounds.
