Trust nurses share the pride of their profession during International Nurses Week

Staff at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals marked International Nurses Week with a variety of activities and displays that celebrate the work of their profession and the impact it has had on society.

Events taking place during the week included visits to career-minded students at Barnet College, Southgate College, St. Mary’s School and East Barnet school; stalls in the grounds of both main hospital sites; and a chance for the public to meet hospital matrons in both Spires Shopping Centre and the Sainsburys supermarket on Crown Road, Enfield.

As well as coinciding with similar events taking place in hospitals all around the world, the nurses’ activities this week form part of a larger Trust effort to engage the local community - and the workforce of the future – in the services we provide for them. Terina Riches, Director of Nursing, said: “This is always an inspiring time of year for our staff and we are always happy to receive feedback from the public.”

“Every step of the treatment was explained. My opinion was asked and respected. I could not have received better treatment anywhere else.”
