Trust rated as ‘Good’ for both quality of care and financial management

The performance of the Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust continues to improve according to the 2008/2009 annual healthcheck published today by the Care Quality Commission.

The Care Quality Commission's 2008/09 annual health check is the most comprehensive assessment of performance undertaken in the NHS, providing a detailed picture of the state of healthcare in England for quality of services and the use of resources. The ratings range from Weak, Fair, Good or Excellent.

Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust was judged as a GOOD performer for quality of care and GOOD for financial management. This result means the Trust has made year on year improvement for last three years

Averil Dongworth, Chief Executive said: " As an organisation we are dedicated to putting patients and their families first, we want to make sure that patients coming here can feel confident that they're being treated by the best possible team. We have continued to reduce our MRSA and C.diff rates, we have met our 18-week referral times and for the second year in a row we have produced a financial surplus. Our staff continue to work hard and are really committed to improving patient care and our goal is to see continuous improvement and be rated as excellent across the board next year."
