Consultant invited to the House of Commons for a unique opportunity to influence national and local policy

Dr Rama Vancheeswaran, MRCP, MSc, PHD, Consultant Respiratory and General Physician, Lead Physician for the Trust for Smoking Cessation, Interstitial Lung Disease and Barnet Hospital Lead for COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and Non Invasive Ventilation is attending a reception at the House of Commons, Westminster on 19 November.

The event is being hosted by the project partnership that has run the National COPD Audit 2008: The Royal College of Physicians, the British Thoracic Society and the British Lung Foundation to share news of audit results and lobby Members of Parliament to support the development of COPD services.

 

A small number of Respiratory Consultants were invited to attend the event and represent the voice from the field.   Dr Vancheeswaran will discuss COPD service provision and her involvement in the national audit with other guests including MPs and their researchers, policy makers, representatives from the Department of Health, Presidents of the Royal Colleges and other eminent, influential colleagues.
