Senior Charge Nurse bows out just short of four decades

Mario Ramsamy, a Senior Charge Nurse at Chase Farm Hospital’s A&E department, has retired after a remarkable 39 years working for the Trust and its predecessors. In fact, having started there as a student in the early 1970s, he has actually devoted his entire career to the department in its various guises over the years.

Cliff Evans, a fellow Senior Charge Nurse in the department, said Mario was “loved as a colleague and well-respected as a role model. As a member of the Mauritian community who has climbed up the ranks with us throughout his career, he is a fine example of how Chase Farm is an equal opportunities employer.”

Mr. Evans added that: “His input with student nurses has been well appreciated, with his hands-on ability and nursing skills being second to none. We hope that he will return on a part-time basis in the future.”

“I came out smiling.”

“Every step of the treatment was explained. My opinion was asked and respected. I could not have received better treatment anywhere else.”
