Neonatal Unit

The Neonatal Unit has 20 cots at Barnet Hospital, 10 of which are intensive care/high dependency cots and also has 10 special care baby cots at Chase Farm Hospital. The Neonatal Unit serves the local population and also takes emergency referrals from London and South East England.

The Neonatal Unit provides care for pre-term, infants over 27 weeks gestation and newborn babies requiring medical support. All extreme pre-term infants will be transferred to University College London Hospital for more specialised care.

Babies who have conditions requiring surgery are transferred to specialist units at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
