Ante/post natal information
We offer a range of parenthood education workshops for women and their partners who choose to give birth with us. These can be accessed by completing an application form which is obtained at the booking appointment.
Birthplace workshop
For women around 24 weeks. Recommended for all women under Midwifery Led Care. Opportunity to to explore choices available in respect to place of birth, supported by current evidence and a chance to view the facilities. An invite will automatically be sent.
Birth workshop
For women around 32 weeks. Approximately 2 hours. Focus on labour and birth, importance of active labour, coping strategies and discussion when assistance maybe required.
Caring for your baby/your health and well being workshop
For women around 34 weeks. Approximately 2 hours. Focus on the early postnatal period and care of the newborn.
Breastfeeding workshop
For women around 36 weeks. Approximately 1.5 hours. Focus on breastfeeding your baby, the benefits of breastfeeding and preparation for successful breastfeeding.
Twins workshop
For women expecting twins, we encourage attending the workshops above as well as a Twin workshop, which will provide specific information around labour and caring for twins.
Birth Option workshop
For women who have had a previous caesarean section. Focus on the options for this birth and considerations around vaginal birth/caesarean section.
The Trust recognises the importance of Breastfeeding support for women. There are several Breastfeeding Support Groups run by experienced Midwives.
