Consultant led unit - Barnet Hospital

The Consultant Led Unit at Barnet Hospital is for women/babies experiencing complications during pregnancy/labour or for women who have medical problems requiring specialist care.

The unit comprises of:

• 6 birthing rooms which have shared en-suite facilities.
• 2 obstetric theatres.
• 2-bedded theatre recovery ward.
• A 2-bedded ward area for multipurpose usage.
• We also have a bereavement room on site.

There is a 28-bedded antenatal/postnatal ward called Victoria Ward and also a separate 4-bedded ward situated in close proximity to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for mothers whose babies require neonatal care.

A dedicated team of midwives, medical staff and health care assistants will care for you.

You will have access to all forms of pain relief including epidural.
