Women rate our maternity services highly in national survey
Women have given our maternity services the thumbs up, according to the results of the 2013 Maternity Services Survey, run by the Care Quality Commission.
Our maternity service was scored out of 10 for each of the questions. The results show that women rate our service very highly on the choices we provide in relation to place of birth, partner involvement in care, mobility in labour and how well we communicate with women and their families.
Consultant Midwife Cathy Rogers said “We are pleased with the results which have shown a significant improvement in many areas since our last survey. The findings reflect the commitment of our staff to ensure women and their partners are given the best experience possible. However, we recognise we should not be complacent and are continuing to work to strengthen standards with respect to infant feeding and support in labour.”
Detailed findings of the survey, as well as the survey questionnaire, can be found on the CQC website.
