Ridgeway Birth Centre

The Ridgeway Birth Centre (RBC) is situated alongside our Consultant Led Unit at Chase Farm Hospital. The unit offers approximately 800 women a year a home from home environment for pregnancy, birth and post-natal care.

Midwifery Led Unit Acceptance Criteria

The Ridgeway Birth Centre comprises of 5 en-suite rooms, a sensory room and 4 additional post-natal beds.
The RBC offers:

• Full range of antenatal care
• Antenatal workshops including active birth and waterbirth
• 5 ensuite birth rooms/postnatal bedrooms
• Birthing pools for you to labour/birth in water
• Birth stools to help you with an upright birth as well as bean bags and birth balls
  You are cared for by midwives who are supported by midwifery assistants.

If complications occur in your pregnancy/labour or you require an epidural for pain relief, you will be transferred to our Consultant Led Unit. In most cases this will be the Consultant Led Unit on the Chase Farm Site.
