Palliative Care
The Palliative Care team provides specialist palliative care to all inpatients from Monday to Friday. There are also weekly palliative medicine clinics at both Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital and a social worker at Chase Farm Hospital.
The team have specialist skills in pain and symptom control and also offer social, psychological and spiritual support to patients. They consist of three part time Consultants, a Nursing team leader, a social worker, four specialist nurses and two secretaries. The Consultants also run one clinic a week in each hospital.
The Palliative Care team works closely with the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy departments, the Chaplaincy team and Community Palliative Care services including the North London Hospice.
