Staff Bank

The Staff Bank Office (SBO) operates from Chase Farm Hospital, offering a Temporary Staffing solution to all Trust sites.

The SBO attempts to fill shortfalls in the following areas:

• Nursing (including specialist areas such as Midwifery, Theatres and A&E)
• Locums
• Clerical
• Technical

For Nursing and Locums the SBO can source from the internal database of registered workers or via agencies, depending on the level of approval for each individual requirement.

For Clerical and Technical the SBO can source from the internal database of registered workers or via agencies, depending on the level of approval for each individual requirement. The SBO does not have a readily available supply of workers in some areas i.e. Financial expertise or Audiologists, this mainly due to the inconsistency of available work.

Traditionally such areas have booked directly with agencies, however the SBO is investigating the possibility of all such requirements being placed through the SBO. In the interim and for the foreseeable future the SBO has agreed that all requests should be advised to the SBO and if specialist agencies are to be used, those NHS approved via PASA (Procurement and Supplies Agency) and/or by sector agreements/SLA's are to be used. Should a sector agreed agency be unable to meet the Trust requirements, alternatives will be sought/provided on a specific individual basis.
